Kick start Semster 2 with Re-O Week

We're starting Semester 2 with Re-O Week. Re-O Week (or Reorientation) is full of events to help you settle into UCOL life and meet new people.

Monday 22 July - Meet and Greet, 12pm-1pm

It's your first day on campus. Head down to the Atrium to meet the team of Student Reps and the Student Support Team to hear all about the opportunities that await you at UCOL while enjoying a shared lunch.

Tuesday 23 July - Pōwhiri,  9.30am-1pm

We welcome students and staff to UCOL for the semester with a pōwhiri. Meet outside the main entrance, and we'll make our way over to Pakaitore/Moutoa Gardens.

New students are to gather in the UCOL car park at 9.30am, while returning students are to meet at Pakaitore at the same time.

Afterwards we'll head back to the campus Atrium to share kai and sing waiata.

In the event of wet weather, the Pōwhiri will be moved to the Atrium.

If you're unsure about how the pōwhiri works, click here to view and download our pōwhiri booklet.

Wednesday 24  July -  Market Day,  11am-2pm

Meet some of the organisations that help our students in the community. From job-seeking to family support ,and even local clubs to join. Market Day is a great chance to meet new people. We'll also have some fun activities and competitions, so come along and get amongst it.

Thursday 25  July - Connect! Guess Who Prize Draw, 12pm-1pm

Join us for a special Connect! session.  Connect! is a monthly event that brings students and staff together for fun activities and free kai.

Put names to faces with our very own live game of Guess Who. Collect a game board and visit each table to meet members of the UCOL team. Collect all the names and go into the draw to win a brand new bluetooth portable speaker. The event will be complemented with free vegetarian nachos so you don't go hungry while you're making all those connections!

Friday 26 July, Whānau Day

Now that you've had a week to familiarise yourself with the campus, it's time to show your family around. Bring your family in to meet your lecturers, have a tour of the campus and then treat them to a high tea prepared by  students. Then after 3pm it's time to introduce your tamariki to the campus with fun games, a scavenger hunt and afternoon snacks for the youngest members of the UCOL whānau.

Whānau visit with high tea – 12pm-3pm
