Are you interested in putting things together and creating things from wood? Are you interested in building? If so, UCOL's STAR Construction Skills Programme could be for you. You'll gain a base understanding and the core skills required to construct a utility building on-site at UCOL.

Successful completion of UCOL's STAR Construction Skills Programme is the first step in a journey. Equipped with new skills and a taste for the industry, you will know what you need to do to pursue a career in carpentry. If this is for you, you can undertake further tertiary studies in:

  • Academy Construction
  • Dual Pathways National Certificate in Building, Construction and Allied Trade Skills

 Course Information

UCOL's STAR Construction Skills Programme comprises 8 Credits.

 Learning Facilities

Study at UCOL's dedicated trades facility.

 Domestic Entry Requirements

For year 11 - 13 secondary school students (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or students with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).

Applications are to be received from participating schools.
