Do you like to help people? UCOL’s Alternative Health Care programme will help you understand and develop your skills around wellbeing.

Locations: UCOL Manawatū in Palmerston North, UCOL Whanganui, UCOL Wairarapa in Masterton

Duration: One day per week for five weeks (Wednedsay).

Using the New Zealand Health Model of Te Whare Tapa Whā, you will discover various health practices currently being used in New Zealand.

Successful completion of UCOL's STAR Alternative Health Care programme is the first step in a journey. Equipped with new skills and a taste for the industry, you will know what you need to do to pursue a career in healthcare. If this is for you, you can undertake further tertiary studies in:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing

 Course Information

STAR Alternative Health Care programme comprises of 5 credits.

 

 

 Domestic Entry Requirements

For year 11 - 13 secondary school students (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or students with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).

Applications are to be received from participating schools.
