Universal College of Learning Ltd is an educational institution with a history dating back to 1892. We are a subsidiary of Te Pūkenga - the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology. We are working to give our graduates the skills needed by businesses, both domestic and international.
We are a business division of Te Pūkenga, the newly established Government-led educational institute. With sixteen Institutions of Technology and Polytechnic (ITPs) and eleven Industry Training Organisations (ITOs) under it, Te Pūkenga is the largest tertiary education provider in New Zealand. Within it, UCOL has four campuses across the central and lower North Island. We hold a strong regional position and play a vital role in our regions’ economic development.
UCOL’s specialities include Applied Engineering and Trades, Health and Sciences, and Humanities and Business. Our campuses have been designed to enhance student learning, supported by a relationship-based teaching approach. By studying with us, students learn valuable life skills and can contribute to the global community. Many international students choose UCOL so they can gain an internationally recognised qualification and get practical work experience while studying.
Once you become part of the UCOL whānau (family), we have an extensive support system to take care of your wellbeing and help you with study. Our
international student support staff are experienced in looking after the needs of international students and follow
the New Zealand Government Code of Practice for pastoral care.
