This programme has been developed by QCONZ in collaboration with UCOL, Fonterra and DairyNZ. 

Designed for owners, managers and 2ICs, the course focuses on the benefits to be gained through affordable, practical, good animal care practices.

The training includes a blend of delivery - some online learning, a one-day workshop, followed by skills practise and an on-farm assessment.

 Career & Study Outcomes

On completing this programme, you will understand the market expectations and benefits of good animal care practice. In addition, you will be able to assess key wellbeing indicators for dairy cattle & develop animal wellbeing plans incorporating the latest animal care best practices.

 Domestic Entry Requirements

To be eligible for entry to the programme, applicants must hold the following:

NCEA  Level 2
OR
equivalent skills and experience
OR
on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Executive Dean
AND

A verified copy of your identification

You should supply a verified copy of any of the following documents:
  • Current driver license
  • Current New Zealand passport
  • Birth certificate
  • Whakapapa statement
