Are you wanting to take your cookery skills to the next level?

The Academy Cookery Level 3 Programme will give you the opportunity to learn and refine your skills to cook pasta, egg, vegetable dishes, and prepare food for service in a commercial kitchen. You will also learn to apply food safety practices within a food related establishment.

This programme helps you to learn relevant industry skills and experiences as you put your learning into practice in our commericial kitchen environment.

How to apply
If you're interested in applying for this programme, talk to your careers advisor at school. Application is arranged in partnership with your parents/caregivers and your school. Once you've talked to everyone required, you can fill out the application form as follows:

Equipped with new skills and a taste for the industry, you will know what you need to do to pursue a career in culinary or related industries. UCOL's Academy Cookery Programme comprises 24 Credits.

Unit Standard 27955 (Level 3) (Version 3) (5Credits)
Apply food safety practices in a food-related esablishment

Unit Standard 13316 (Level 3) (Version 5) (3Credits)
Prepare and cook basic pasta dishes in a commercial kitchen

Unit Standard 13314 (Level 3) (Version 6) (4Credits)
Prepare and cook egg dishes in a commercial kitchen

Unit Standard 13325 (Level 3) (Version 5) (4Credits)
Prepare and bake basic cakes, sponges and scones in a commercial kitchen

Unit Standard 13293 (Level 3) (Version 5) (6Credits)
Prepare and cook basic vegetable dishes in a commercial kitchen

Unit Standard 13282 (Level 3) (Version 5) (2Credits)
Prepare, assemble, and present complex sandwiches for a service in a commercial ktichen.

 Domestic Entry Requirements

For year 11 - 13 secondary school students (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or students with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).

Applications are to be received from participating schools.
